Continuing my Journey

Last night was the culmination of a weeks worth of planning, secret keeping, and nail biting! I was determined to surprise my new sweety with something that was fit for a king (at least in this stage of the relationship). We arrived atr Matarazzo Farms Vineyard and winery in Belvediere, NJ just prior to the 4:30 pm time slot I scheduled. We got started a little late due to some confusion at the facility, however our tour guide extraordinaire, Amanda made up for the delay. We had a private formal wine tasting, toured the wine cellar, and ended with barefoot grape stomping. Yes, the two of us in a barrel simultaneously was hysterical! Amanda accommodated us with photo ops, a relaxed pace for conversation, rustic and romantic setting, and a new found respect for wine making. We left with 3 bottles from the winery, and headed to find a good place to eat. We decided on Cheesecake Factory in Bridgewater Commons, and what a treat. The spinach-cheese dip, crab cakes, and finally cheesecake was divine! Headed home, but of course talked in the car for hours (as seems to be our usual), then ended the evening. This journey in my second half of life is shaping up to be better than the first half!
